Directory of Manitoba Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs
OVERVIEW
Since 1956, Addiction services in Manitoba have been administered and delivered by the Addiction Foundation of Manitoba (AFM) . AFM serves Manitoba through its 23 offices that distributes throughout three regions:
Winnipeg
Western
Northern
AFM also provides prevention and education services on alcohol , other drugs and gambling throughout the province.
Other services provided by AFM include alcohol and drug rehab services, an impaired driver program and drug testing.
In November, 2006, The Youth Drug Stabilization (Support for Parents) Act came into effect. This legislation allows for involuntary detention and short-term stabilization for young Manitobans under 18 years of age.
The Manitoba Meth Strategy is involves provincial, national and international partners committed to the restriction of supply and the reduction of demand for crystal meth.
