Note: Alcove offers an Individual Residential Program, a Mothers and Children Recovery Program (private residential suites and parent training), and an Aftercare Program for women 18+. Program length is 12 weeks. Clients can self-refer and must be 5 days sober prior to admission. Program offers trauma based and gender responsive curriculum. Clients who qualify receive funding through Alberta Works.
Note: This is a 6 bed program for abused, homeless, at risk, and behaviorally disordered youth 12 - 18. The length of stay is dependent on how long it takes to find a stable place to live more permanently. Clients are be referred by MCFD. Methadone clients are accepted. Alternate Shelter Society is considered a last resort for youth who have been recently removed from unsuitable environments, are in care by agreement, are between placements, or are “on the run” as a means of survival. There is no fee for this program.
Note: This is a 10 bed (5 beds for homeless women and 5 beds for women from Corrections Canada) barrier-free program and emergency shelter for Aboriginal women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Clients can self-refer. CSC clients are accepted. Program offers culturally appropriate healing including Pipe Ceremonies, smudging, cleansing, Sweat Lodge, drum/rattle making, and arts.
Note: There are 24 units of supported affordable housing for women 19+ and their young children. Priority is given to mothers who are pregnant or whose youngest is under the age of 2. Program length is up to 24 months. Clients must be referred and sober prior to admission and have successfully completed a treatment program. Fees apply; please call for more information.
Note: This is a 6 week, 46 bed program for women 18+. Clients must be referred and 5 days sober prior to admission. Methadone clients are accepted. Smoking outside is allowed. Program offers trauma-informed curriculum and treatment. Once clients have completed Aventa’s Phase II or Young Adult Treatment (YAT) Program, Phase III is 3 month residential treatment program. Aventa is a funded service of AHS. Clients who qualify receive funding through Alberta Works. Clients who wish to self-pay, please speak with the Assessments Department.

Program offers groups and activities focused on trauma, substance dependency, mental and physical health issues, motivational enhancement, smoking cessation, mindfulness practice, relapse prevention skills and emotional regulation skills. Fees are per diem; there are several ways to receive funding.
