Note: This is a community-based, non-medical program for youth ages 12 - 19. Program length is 1 - 90 days. Clients can self-refer and are not required to be sober prior to admission; non-medical detox is available. Program offers education, harm reduction, and relapse prevention. Stabilization component of program can involve returning to school, searching for work, attending support group meetings, connecting with a Youth Alcohol and Drug Counsellor. There are no fees for this service.

Note: This program provides access to safe house beds in the Kamloops area to youth 13 - 24 who require residential support while receiving outpatient addiction treatment services. Program length is up to 6 weeks. Clients must be sober prior to admission. Clients must be referred from Interior Health, the MCFD, Youth Probation, Delegated First Nations Agencies, First Nations Bands, Addiction Counsellors and Mental Health Professionals. Program offers outpatient counselling through Mental Health, Addictions Services, Aboriginal Health, or Child and Youth Mental Health to establish healthier lifestyles. Funded by Interior Health.
Note: This is a 6 bed program for abused, homeless, at risk, and behaviorally disordered youth 12 - 18. The length of stay is dependent on how long it takes to find a stable place to live more permanently. Clients are be referred by MCFD. Methadone clients are accepted. Alternate Shelter Society is considered a last resort for youth who have been recently removed from unsuitable environments, are in care by agreement, are between placements, or are “on the run” as a means of survival. There is no fee for this program.
Note: This is a program for male, female, and transgender youth 13 - 19. Youth are placed in one of the supportive Contracted Care Family homes which are situated throughout Greater Victoria. A Youth Support Worker provides support for both the care home and the youth. It is preferred if the clients are sober prior to admission. Clients must be referred by the youth’s Alcohol and Drug Counsellor with VIHA.
Note: This is a 12 bed program for youth ages 12 - 18. Program length is 3 - 6 months. Youth must be referred. The centre offers withdrawal management, stabilization services, a fully functional classroom setting, and accommodation space for visiting family.
Note: This is a 10 bed program for Innu, Inuit, and First Nations youth 11-17. Program is 16 weeks. Clients must be sober 72 hours prior to admission. Clients must be referred. The Nutshimit Program offers life skills in food preparation, survival skills, sweat ceremonies, healing circles, hunting, fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling, hiking, snow-shoeing, berry picking, pitching a tent and breaking camp, and traditional crafts. Services offered in English and Innu Eimun.
Note: This is a 8 week, 14 bed program for youth 13 - 17. Clients must be referred and sober prior to admission. Program is covered by Manitoba Health.

Note: This is a program for youth ages 13 - 18 dealing with substances, gambling, and/or concurrent disorders. Clients must be referred. Youth in this program complete the same programming and assessment process as youth in the day program, but they are also admitted to the CHOICES 24/7 treatment unit. Program takes a harm reduction approach and offers a non-site school where youth may obtain course credits.
Note: There are 100 beds available in a holistic program for male youth ages 13 - 18. Program length is 120 - 365 days. Detoxification prior to intake is preferred but may not be necessary. Clients must be referred, and must be a BC resident. Program is based on the "Therapeutic Community Model". Contracted Fraser Health Mental Health and Substance Use Services and government funded beds may be available for those who qualify. Private beds are also available for a fee of $250 and up; please call for more information.
